The Federal Aviation Administration has formally recognized ASTM’s National Center for Aerospace and Transportation Technologies (NCATT) Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) certification as equivalent to formal Avionics Technician training when showing eligibility for earning a repairman certificate.

The NCATT AET certification examination is open to all individuals.

In addition to completing the AET certification, individuals must complete the following ASTM

NCATT endorsements:

  • Autonomous Navigation Systems (ANS)

  • Dependent Navigation Systems (DNS)

  • Onboard Communications and Safety Systems (OCS)

  • Radio Communication Systems (RCS)

Aviation Technician Program University of Central Florida (ATPUCF)

Avionics Technicians Association (ATA) has partnered with the University of Central Florida’s Division of Continuing Education in offering a three-month, 72-hour, training program to prepare individuals for certification to work in the aviation industry. As partners with Avionica USA we provide the ATP training in our facilities located in Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.

Airliner General Familiarization Courses

Our Airliner Gen Fam Courses for Airbus and Boeing, the most selling Aircraft in the world, will give you an A+ for hiring positions for Mechanic and Avionics.

Level I General Familiarization Students will be familiar with equipment and have a general knowledge of turbine powered transport aircraft. Level I provide a brief overview of the airframe, systems, and powerplant as outlined in the Systems Description Section of the Aircraft Maintenance Manual.

Level II Ramp and Transit Students will be familiar with turbine powered transport aircraft, digital electronic equipment, and have experience in ramp, transit and turn around activity. Aircraft systems overview; a description of controls, indicators, and principal components including their location, and practical training on servicing and minor troubleshooting.

Aircraft Ground School Drone Pilot Course

In order to fly your drone under the FAA's Small UAS Rule (Part 107), you must obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA. This certificate demonstrates that you understand the regulations, operating requirements, and procedures for safely flying drones.

Eligibility

To become a pilot, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years old

  • Be able to read, speak, write, and understand English

  • Be in a physical and mental condition to safely fly a drone

  • Pass the initial aeronautical knowledge exam: "Unmanned Aircraft General – Small (UAG)"
